Removal of 105 Main Street

Almost a year ago, a tragic event nearly destroyed the family home at 105 Main Street.  Through the Venango County Land Bank, the Borough of Emlenton was able to acquire the blighted property.  Borough officials, along with the VFD, have accessed the property and are now currently working with the Pennsylvania State Historic Preservation Office to have it removed.  The structure, although beyond repair, lies within the National Historic District of Emlenton, so the process of having it removed has taken more careful consideration.  We appreciate the concern that some residents have expressed about the hazardous & unattractive looking site, and we plan to have it cleaned up soon!
